Happy Monday! I hope you all had a fantastic holiday weekend! Andrew and I ducked out of work a bit early last week and headed to Palm Springs to frolic in the real life rainbow that is The Saguaro. Neither of us had ever been to Palm Springs, which is nuts considering we only live an hour away, but we are hooked and are already itching to go back! I have a lot I want to share, but I'll start off with the star of our trip-The Saguaro. Seriously, the cutest hotel I have ever stayed at. This hotel is a color lovers dream come true! Every building, door, and room is full of vibrant hues of the rainbow. I obviously took about a million photos, so let's get started!
The moment we walked into The Saguaro we were greeted by the nicest staff. The man that checked us in, Mario, was the greatest person! We got around to talking about Disneyland (duhhhh), and he told us that he was a retired Imagineer. Andrew and I nearly died as he talked about his days working on creating attractions from Tower of Terror to Grizzly Rapids. He also told us about how he met his wife while working the Jungle Cruise. This obviously almost made me cry. I love me a good Disney love story! Besides him being totally cool for obvious reasons, he was also super attentive with us and even upgraded our room-which was totally awesome considering we were there with a Groupon, haha! Anyway, their lobby alone had me completely mesmerized. Colorful lit up walls, a ping-pong table, cute little succulents...I was in heaven!
The hotel was way more colorful and beautiful than I had really imagined. We stayed in the pink building (aka the best color!), and I was in awe at the creativity behind everything. From the purple carpets to the diamond shaped, colorful windows, they really left no details out when creating this place! Our room was incredibly spacious and comfortable, and the view gave me major heart eyes! We also took advantage of the room service for breakfast. We never order room service, but the high of all the colors (and the super lush robes they provided in the room) just made us feel like we really needed to eat breakfast in bed. The food was so delicious, especially the potatoes which tasted like they had chipotle sauce on them. Mmmm!
Andrew and I were obsessed with the pool here. It was big enough to enjoy a little space to yourself without bumping into other guests, and the lounge chairs and plush towels were perfect for an afternoon nap! I also really appreciated that they had a ton of fun pool toys...and that there were no children there to share those pool toys with! Is that totally awful?!? #nah
The Saguaro also has a wonderful Mexican restaurant inside called El Jefe. Their chef/owner is Jose Garces-one of the few chefs in the country who holds the title of Iron Chef. When you order room service, the food comes from this restaurant (which is why those potatoes were seriously the best thing ever!). We obviously didn't miss their happy hour, which boasts $5 margaritas. We made sure to have enough margaritas and guacamole before our pool time nap!
I think I took enough photos of The Saguaro to last me a lifetime, but who knows :) during my photo taking spree, we found tons of cute little sitting areas throughout the hotel. We also came across a bocce ball playing area. So fun! The Saguaro also offers daily yoga classes, free bike rentals for you to cruise around Palm Springs in, a 24 hour gym, and a trolley that takes you into Down Town Palm Springs. Really, there's no way you can ever be bored while staying here!
Cheers to all the colors!! What's your favorite hotel you've ever stayed at?
