Festive Birthday Drink Ideas

I've been noticing more and more that there are a ton of January birthdays out there. According to my Instagram feed, there have been at least 2-3 birthdays every week among the people that I follow. The next few days alone, one of my best friends will be turning 24, I'll be celebrating my own birthday on Sunday, Duke's birthday is next Monday, and my brothers is next Wednesday. Phew! I love birthdays! They're such a great way to remind people how important they are to you and how much you appreciate them. I love making things for people. Baking, planning little surprises, it's so fun! Soooo, this week shall be called "birthday week" on Jess Loves This Life, and together we will celebrate and throw confetti all over the place because life is great, and birthdays are great!

I thought I'd kick off birthday week with some fun drinks. These are perfect for a birthday breakfast. If you're celebrating someone's birthday, your own, or you just like drinking pretty things, you'll want to try a few of these out!
Birthday Cake Hot Chocolate

This tastes like a warm, soft, vanilla cake. So good! I have to admit, the idea of making this and curling up to watch a movie on my birthday sounds really enticing. Sometimes being a lazy little sloth is just as good as going out, am I right?

Here's what you need:
-2 cups of milk
-4 oz white chocolate, chopped
-1 tsp. vanilla extract
-whipped cream & sprinkles

Here's what you do:
In a small saucepan, stir your milk, vanilla, and chocolate together over medium heat. Once the chocolate has completely dissolved, pour your drink into a mug. Top with whipped cream and sprinkles. I also popped in 2 little candles...because what's a birthday without them? Be quick to blow these out, the whipped cream isn't really the most reliable thing to hold them up!

Birthday Milkshake

This drink is perfect if you're wanting to bring a few boys to your yard. Not only is it super cute, it's (for the most part) a pretty healthy option.

Here's what you need:
-2 cups of milk
-1 frozen banana
-4 frozen strawberries
-1/2 cup of Greek yogurt
-1 tsp vanilla extract
-handful of ice
-whipped cream & sprinkles

Here's what you do:
Throw all your ingredients in a blender and blend till you have a smooth consistency. Top with whipped cream, sprinkles, and 2 straws. One for you, one for a boy...from your yard.

And there you have it. Two super easy, but pretty drinks to make for yourself or a special someone celebrating their birthday!

What festive birthday drinks have you made before? Wait, biggest question: any January birthdays out there? Because weeeeee!! :)
