Merriest Wishes From The Soon To Be Mr & Mrs!!

Hey there!! Let's talk about the fact that it's super, super late in the day and I am just now getting this post up. Sigh. I mentioned on Instagram earlier this week that I had been having a really long and stressful day...and that basically turned into a really long and stressful week. If we're being totally honest, I've been feeling super overwhelmed with everything in my life these days. It's just been a season where everything is piling up and I need a break, know what I mean? This morning however, everything completely shifted for me. Earlier this month Andrew and I decided to "adopt" a family through a program in our community. The gist of it is you buy toys for the children in the family and provide food or a grocery store card for them to have Christmas dinner. We spent all of last night wrapping their gifts and I was feeling pretty jolly, and this morning when I dropped off the donation...well, my heart basically exploded. I was greeted by the father of the family, who expressed so much gratitude towards me that I seriously felt like I was going to fall apart. I won't go into the details of their family circumstances, but his face was the happiest most wonderful thing I have seen this entire holiday season. And just like that, my little life problems just felt like they were nonexistent. Seriously, I invite you to do something kind for someone today and every day. Not for the sake of making yourself feel good for giving back, but because the tiniest thing can truly change another persons life and that is a beautiful, powerful thing.

Now that I'm fully in the Christmas spirit, I'm so excited to be sharing our holiday card...because Christmas is awesome! Andrew and I have never done one together, but we figured since we're only 2 months from getting married, it was time! We decided not to send out save the dates for our wedding to cut costs, but also because a lot of our family is local and really involved in details of our wedding anyway. So, I had this idea that we could use our holiday card as a save the date, just for the sake of (sort of) having one to look back at. I'm a huge penny pincher, so I was so excited when Groupon had a deal for custom cards made from Staples. We paid $12 for 50 cards. Yay! You'll notice that Duke dominates our card, partially because we're nuts but mostly because he's just so precious.

Meg has been so awesome about holding down the fort with this linkup while I got my life together this morning. Hop on over to her blog to check out her card! She's a newlywed and her card is so cute! Almost as cute as her wedding day video clip which makes my heart so happy!! We'd love for you to join us in sharing your own holiday card. Please feel free to leave your link down below so I can come stalk you, in the kindest way possible...

  2. I think it's really cute! My cat was our first "baby" then our dog and now our daughter and they always dominated cards and photos.

    1. Haha, a few friends thought it was odd but they don't have pets together. They really do feel like children sometimes.
