Last weekend Andrew and I went on a little date night to admire the Christmas lights in our neighborhood. We usually like to drive into other neighborhoods to check out their twinkly art as well, so this year we decided to head to Nellie Gale Ranch in Orange County to check out this fantastic house that really does it up. This house is the spot for lights. Every night leading up to Christmas they have multiple light shows, syncing their light system to some popular Christmas carols. It is incredible! So much so that the neighbors across the street set up a little fire pit for everyone to sit around and admire from there. So sweet! Not only do they go all out on the outside, they also graciously open up their home to the public to enjoy the decor inside. Now when I say decor, I don't mean a pretty Christmas tree and some holiday pillows. The inside of their home is like a wonderful Christmas museum!
There is usually a line outside their home to get in, but it moves fairly quickly. This cute family wants to make sure their thousands of guests don't starve and start eating their decor, so they have volunteers making donuts and warm cider for everyone. Pretty sure they win the best neighbor award every year. PS, I was so excited about the donuts (that I couldn't even eat) that I totally forgot how to take a proper photo...
When you first walk in, you'll find an upside down tree being held by The Grinch. It's seriously crazy cool and maybe my favorite piece in the house. As you walk through their living room and dining room, you'll see a ton of awesome Christmas scenes that they've set up and your eyes will be really giant and your heart will want to explode because everything is just so beautiful!
Precious, no?? The tour ends in their second living room, where they have Christmas movies playing continually. They also have 2 really sweet people waiting to take your picture for you.
This is such a fun thing to do with friends and family. It seriously gets you in the Christmas spirit! The gracious (and festive) family doesn't charge for any of this, they only ask that you bring a toy for their toy drive if you feel inclined to do so. Seriously, if you're in Orange County, you do not want to miss this!
You can find more information on their home here.
