Duke Goes To The Farmers Market

Happy Friday, happy Halloween, and happy last day of October! Woah. So much excitement today!! I'm pretty sure October played a cruel joke on us and decided it should only stick around for about 5 minutes. I seriously don't know where this month went! I've been a little PO'd with Southern California this month because it hasn't delivered any Fall weather. It's been fun to pretend it's cold out when the weather hits 70 degrees, but then I look at myself and get annoyed at my cardigan and sandals combo. I'm itching for that Fall feeling! Yesterday it was a solid 66 degrees all day, so obviously I pulled out my boots because #fall.
As much as I'm dreaming of cooler days, I can't really complain all that much because our weather allows us to comfortably attend our local farmers market year round, which I can totally get behind! Since Duke is basically our son, we decided to bring him along on our trip yesterday to the Downtown Anaheim Farmers Market. He's kind of a dopey little guy...but I think he really makes up for it with his cuteness. He gets in serious panic mode when other dogs get near him, and he immediately tucks himself behind my legs...but the moment they walk away, he starts (quietly) growling at them. You know, to show them who's boss.

Our first stop at the market was Popsikle Shop, Orange County's first mobile thrift boutique. I've seen them on Instagram a few times and I absolutely love the concept of their business! They have the cutest accessories, vintage clothing pieces and handmade bows and Mickey ears (my favorite!). The inside of their trailer boasts an awesome closet you can shop from...along with a Burn Book! AH! Mean Girls unite!!

Next we checked out the fruits and vegetables. Maybe it's because I'm cheap, but I often find farmers markets to be more expensive than some grocery stores. I know you're paying for local product, but still. I can't always bring myself to pay double what I would elsewhere. Lucky for us, the Downtown Anaheim Farmers Market has excellent prices! Easily some of the best prices I've seen in comparison to other markets we've visited.

On to my favorite part about farmers markets, the flowers!! I was so impressed by the selection and prices the flower vendor had to offer here. There were a few I'd never seen before that were incredibly beautiful! It took Duke and I a pretty long while to decide what we wanted.

Before we left, we grabbed lunch at a little restaurant right next to the market. $1 tacos and fresh melon water are so my jam. PS: that guac is everything. If you're ever in downtown Anaheim you must check out Cervantes Mexican Kitchen.

Duke loves being the center of attention no matter what we're doing, so he was in heaven at the farmers market since so many people stopped to admire him. Before I go, here is a low quality car selfie of us. We're prepping ourselves to go on tour with Miley.

What are your plans for the weekend? A farmers market trip, perhaps?? Have a happy Friday friends!
