Happy Monday!
I cannot believe it's already September. I swear, it feels like I was writing down my August goals about 30 seconds ago and now it's a whole new month. September is one of my favorite months because everything finally starts to feel like Fall and my heart is all kinds of happy!August was a tad ridiculous for me. I was so busy with work, so caught up with so many things, and it was just one of those months where you feel like you can't really catch your breath, you know? Wedding planning really took a toll on me and I had about one million breakdowns. Our venue ended up being a huge flop and now we are on the hunt for a new place. Basically they told us a price, but when we went in for a walk through they mentioned a crazy price increase as a "by the way" and that super doesn't fly with these ballers on a budget. Like, at all. Did I mention we're six months away from getting married? YA. To say that I'm panicking is an understatement. I think one of the biggest reasons August was so stressful for me is because I didn't give myself time to just be. I barely blogged, I spent very little time creating and exercising my brain, I spent very little time just hanging out with Andrew and my family, etc, etc. I love being busy, but I also love some downtime to regroup and that's something I really need to focus on this month.
August Goals:
1. Wedding stuff, wedding stuff, wedding stuff. No. But lots of wedding panic tears were shed, does that count?
2. Purge a lot of my stuff. No. I fail.
3. Plan blog posts a week ahead. Totally no.
4. Have FUN! August wasn't ALL bad. I got to go to a baseball game, go camping for a night, attend a super fun Google party, and snug little Duke a lot!
September Goals/To-Do List:
1. Book a new venue, take our save the date photos, start a few DIY projects.
2. Simplify. So much I have to get rid of!
3. Spend an hour a day just blogging, replying to comments, visiting other blogs, etc. I get so distracted once I get on my computer. I always end up on random sites, Facebook, or just general internet derping. Such a time sucker.
4. Spend as much time as possible with Andrew, phone and computer free.
5. Read a book.
What do you have planned for September?

ReplyDeleteI am a total goal / list person. Good for u!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the venue search. Hopefully it all comes together this month for you!
ReplyDeleteI'm going to work on #4 with my husband. :) I think it's really important, but he and I are both glued to our phones!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your September goals. I need to get my goal list together.
ReplyDeleteYou just inspired me to make a September list!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with all your blogging goals. I loved hearing your ideas the other day and cannot wait for them all to work out.
ReplyDeleteMy sister is planning her wedding too! She actually used one of her engagement photos for her save the dates. Best of luck and congratulations!
ReplyDeletePlanning ahead blog stuff is on my list too! Why is it so hard? lol
ReplyDeleteMy goal for September is to try to spend night with my boyfriend by not being glued to my phone/laptop/tv :)
ReplyDeleteI did a lot of simplifying before getting married to my Andrew too. It really helps to start your marriage with less junk- just the stuff you really need makes your new life a lot easier to manage. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteI too need to simplify my life :-) These are great goals, and I love that you make them public. Really good for keeping yourself accountable.
ReplyDeletegood luck with your goals this month! I hope you have better luck with your next venue!
ReplyDeleteI really have to start putting aside time to respond to comments too! I hope you achieve your goals!!
ReplyDeleteFor September I have plans of stepping out of my comfort zone and helping a lot more people out in my area. A few new people moved to the area I'm living in, and I want to become friends with them! So, me being "shy", it'll be tough, but worth it I think.
ReplyDeleteAww sorry that wedding planning has been so stressful. I remember those were not fun days. Hopefully this month you'll be able to get in some rest and *you* time. :)
ReplyDeleteDefinitely read a good book! I recommend: Perks of Being a Wallflower, If I Stay, Looking for Alaska, or the Mara Dyer series. :)
ReplyDeleteYeah, I definitely cannot believe it's already September either! Crazyness! And I definitely think those panic tears count, by the way. ;)
ReplyDeleteNumber. 3 is my fav on your list. You're so true, Facebook is such a time suck. Building community in blogging is hard and takes time, but it so worth it. I'm about to go on a vacation with two friends I've met through blogging 3 years ago!
ReplyDeleteHi, I'm visiting from the link-up.
ReplyDeleteBest of lucks booking a new venue :D
I also had trouble with my blogging schedule last month, but this month I think I found my solution, hope to be more organized this time.
Greetings, have a nice day ♥
Love your goals, especially the last one. There's never enough time for reading a good book!
ReplyDeleteI am such a goal person. Good luck on simplifying your life. I am trying to do the same. I wonder what book you are going to read?
ReplyDeleteGreat goals! Keep up the good work!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure you'll reach all of your goals for the month! I'm not sure what my goals are and I'm not organized enough to make a list ha, but I do plan to read my Bible more starting this month, if that counts.
ReplyDeleteThis month goals seem more specific, so it will make it easier to reach them. Planning a wedding can be stressful, I remember watching a two of my sister's plan theirs. It helps to have fun and spend time on suppose with the your significant other just enjoying each other taking time away from planning simply to smell the roses. A good book is also a another wonderful way to relax with all you have going on. :)
ReplyDeleteGreat goals you set and I am sure you will achieve them!
ReplyDeleteSo much to do for weddings! Great goal setting.
ReplyDeleteGreat goals! I'm totally there in #2 for August. Having 3 boys makes it so hard to keep the house cleaned out.
ReplyDeleteWERK it. You got these goals
ReplyDeleteI love reading people's goals. Good luck in Sept!
ReplyDeleteGreat goals for September. My favorite is #4. :)
ReplyDeleteI have the same issue as #3 - I need to work on that as well!
ReplyDeletegreat goals! make sure you do #4 as much as possible!!! =)
ReplyDeleteGreat goals, especially the simplifying and reading (i have the same goals too! I have so much stuff that I'd love to get rid of, to make life.. neater and prettier. :) ). Any book(s) identified for your goal?
