Weekly Wishes #20

Happy Monday!
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!
I attended a wedding, slept a lot, and had one too many pear ciders throughout the course of two days. Side note: I'd never had pear cider before, it's now officially my go to drink. SO yummy, but kind of dangerous since it mostly tastes like juice and then after like the third one you remember you were drinking alcohol. Woops. Anyway...it's Monday! Hooray!! Let's set some goals!

Last weeks goals:
1. Craft. I did it! I successfully glitter-fied 100 wine glasses for my aunt and uncles wedding!
2. Go on a few hikes. Negative.
3. Be more organized with my work stuff. Check! I organized myself much better and figured out a system that I think I can stick with. Talk about being employee of the year...
4. Drink more juices. Not one juice was consumed. Unless you count all those pear ciders, which tasted like juice.
5. BLOG. So, so.
Work has been so beyond crazy busy, I can't even explain how exhausted I feel. Last week I worked 50 hours and the week before that I worked 47. This week I'm working a few long days in a row, but overall I'm only working 40 hours. Wohoo! I love my job, it's the most rewarding thing I have ever done, and I am so thankful for it, but man do I need a break. I'm excited to get this week going and make a few significant changes in my schedule. Working extremely long hours makes you forget about small things like eating better, spending time with those you love, blogging, you get the point.

This Weeks Wishes/To-Do List:
1. Be a better blogger. I blogged a bit last week, but if you asked me what I blogged about I probably couldn't really tell you. I've been so busy that I haven't felt connected with my blog. I LOVE BLOGGING though, and luckily I have way more time for it this week! I think the biggest reason I haven't felt a spark with my blog is because I haven't had the time to sit down and read through other blogs. I feel the most inspired and excited about blogging when I've sat down and binge read through all of my favorite blogs.
2. Go on a date with Andrew. Guys, wedding planning is getting to me. It's been phone call after phone call with vendors, photographers and caterers. I've forgotten I'm engaged and I feel in a bit of a trance when it comes to all this wedding planning. Don't get me wrong, I'm really excited, obviously, but in the past two weeks I've had longer conversations with strangers over the phone than with Andrew who lives in the same house as me. I need some time to reconnect with him, and take this stage in my life all in and just enjoy it. I'll only be engaged once and so far it's been too much about the wedding day itself, and not about our relationship that will last a lifetime.
3. Eat better/go on a hike. I went 2 whole days last week with eating only an apple and a ton of iced tea. So bad, I know, but I was having 13 hour days with only driving breaks in between and I super didn't prepare for that.
4. Go to Disneyland. Um, I haven't been there in what feels like forever. This is obviously not okay in my book.

Cheers to a better week, full of excitement, creativity and love!
Have a fantastic day!

  1. Hey there lady! This is my first time visiting, but I love your blog! Plus, this post is so springy and it gives me happy vibes.
+Although I'm still really new at this, I sat down last night and made a blogging calendar for myself and that mega inspired me and actually made me really excited to post lots of fun stuff. I'm going to be sharing about this process tomorrow so maybe you'll come check it out? :)
+Ah, engagement rules. But, it's underestimatedly hard too. I got so overwhelmed with the planning that I actually called it all off and did an elopement ceremony instead, so this makes you one strong woman. Dates are so fun and SO important. Don't forget that they're vital even after your marriage, too!!
+Definitely rooting for you on the food end of things! Haha, I forget/run out of time to eat, too. So things can only get better from there.
+So jealous that you're close to Disneyland. Take advantage!!

+Maybe you can date andrew via going on a hike together or going to disneyland together?? Or both? Then you dominate your list in two activities!

Ps. Congrats on the goals that you DID accomplish last week! Don't let the ones you missed bring you down! :) Glass half full!

    1. Thanks for stopping by! I'm so glad you're here! :) a blogging calendar is definitely really useful, I have one too but lost my inspiration for it last week, but I'm already back on track! Also, the amount of times I've thought about eloping is seriously insane haha, I don't think that would fly with my parents though as I'm their first to wed! Thanks for your energy, look forward to checking out your post tomorrow!

  3. Oh, pear cider, it's good, right, so much better than the apple one :-) and yes, it tastes like juice, but oh so tricky LOL I have the same with sangria, it's so yummy, you have lots of fruit, but after two or three, my head goes the other way LOL

And I'm with you on the blogging! I love it too, but last week I just didn't feel like it and then I read all those other amazing blogs and I'm like: I can do this too :-)

good luck on your wishes girl!

  5. I am so with you on the whole talking to strangers on the phone for hours. I was so discouraged and hated that part of wedding planning. All the diy stuff was a blast though - I even arranged my own floral arrangements and bouquets. P.S. HOLY CRAP 100 glitterfied glasses, sounds fantastic!!

and juicing - gosh its the best. and the worst. Why isn't there somebody who we can hire to make juices / then wash our juicers for us afterwards. I would hire them, daily.
